Lost circulation problems that occur
during remedial work or during completion activities can be
problematic and costly both in fluid loss and productivity of
operations. K-3 Services can provide solutions to fluid loss
problems with fluid loss control pills formulated in acid soluble
or water soluble blends.
Acid Soluble Lost Circulation Pills:
Our SEALIT A/S lost circulation pill is a blend of thixotropic
and non-thixotropic polymers, blended with various sized calcium
carbonate sealing material, that can be thermally stabilized
to tempeatures of 350° F. The SEALIT A/S pill can be blended
to differing densities utilizing a variety of solids free base
fluids. The pills are formulated with different blends of carbonate
products depending on the severity of fluid loss. Cleanup of
the bridged interval is generally achieved by bringing the bridged
zone back to production or by circulating a wash of 10-15% hydrochloric
acid solution.
Water Soluble Lost Circulation Pills:
For formations that are acid sensitive, lost circulation control
can be achieved with the use of salt based Bridgesal LCM pills
consisting of a blend of thixotropic and non-thixotropic polymers
with various loadings of sized sodium chloride bridging solids
in a base fluid of 10.0 ppg sodium chloride. For fluid systems
of calcium bromide and zinc bromide, the Hysal LCM products
are available for use with the higher density systems. K-3 Services
has Bridgesal and Hysal LCM products available for your needs.
All lost circulation pills and systems can be blended at our
facilities and transported to location or blended at the well
site by any of our service engineers.
